Joy Mumper recently joined the J as the J Play/Club J Supervisor. She comes from a Human Resources background and has been a stay-at-home mom for more than 10 years! Learn more about her below.
What is a regular day for you supervising J Play/Club J?
Every day is different. It just depends on the day and who comes to visit us! Parents who use the J facilities drop their little ones off to hang out with us while they work out. With so many different little personalities, we might spend our time playing and running around with them or distracting them if they’re missing their parents. There’s never a dull moment when we have kiddos in the rooms!
What drew you to work at the J?
I had been a stay-at-home mom for quite a few years, and I enjoyed every moment of it. When I saw the opening as the J Play/Club J supervisor and what it entailed, I was interested. Turns out I really enjoy hanging out with other people’s kids, too! 😊
What are you excited to do in your new role?
I love playing with the kids and holding babies! It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to spend time with kids this age and I’m truly enjoying it!
What do you do in your free time?
I spend my free time with my family. I have three kids (19, 17 and 14) and my husband and I keep busy running to sporting events for my younger two or heading up to Miami to visit my oldest. They grow up too fast, so we soak up as much time with them as we can.
