Overview
RegisterTheatre at the J features two drama classes. Children will learn a variety of acting skills and exercises, as well as the basics of theatre, performance, character development, ensemble building, and storytelling. Culmination of the program will be presented in performance for family and friends to enjoy!
Children will participate in theatre games and activities that encourage creativity, self-expression, and self-confidence.
Classes
Join us for a NEW musical theatre workshop! In this collaborative drama class for kids, children will learn a variety of acting skills and exercises, as well as the basics of musical theatre, vocal performance, choreography, character development, ensemble building, and storytelling.
Not a performer? Not a problem! We are looking for students interested in stage crew to join our class too. These students will get to work on technical aspects of the theatre including scenic design, prop making, costume design, and stage crew. Culmination of this program will be a fully staged musical performance of Disney’s Aladdin Jr.!
Class will meet for tech week on the following dates: May 2 – 4 and 7 – 9. Performances will be on May 10, 11, and 14. Timing for these rehearsals and performances will be provided as the dates get closer.
