Volunteer with the J!
Whether you want to give back to the community, make new friends, earn community service hours, or enhance your resume, the J has many volunteer opportunities available year-round.
Volunteers are matched with positions that fit their skills and interests. All volunteers must complete the volunteer application, meet with the volunteer coordinator, and participate in training prior to volunteering at the J.

JCC Volunteer Opportunities
These are the volunteer experiences that will make your day! Come and assist our instructors and guests with special needs and disabilities as they experience our great inclusion programs. Volunteers provide extra care and attention to these special individuals as they enjoy camaraderie, develop social skills, and increase their physical fitness. Join us! All individuals interested in volunteering must be coordinated through the Volunteer Coordinator.
Meeting now! Fitness with Friends: This group for young adults with disabilities meets from 1 – 3pm on Sundays for one hour of group exercise followed by an hour of social or recreational activity.
Regular and substitute drivers are needed right away. Deliver meals to homebound seniors using your own vehicle. Most delivery routes take approximately 1 – 1 1/2 hours.
Help us to assemble and pack food for delivery to our Meals On Wheels clients. No cooking is involved.
Help out at any of our wonderful special events including: J Classic, Jewish & Israeli Film Festival, and more! Be involved by greeting guests, selling tickets, ushering, running games, setting up, or tearing down.
Volunteers make calls twice a week to check on the well-being of the elderly and people with disabilities who live alone. Be someone’s friend and connection to the outside world with a 5- or 10-minute phone call.
If you have a skill, interest, talent, and time, you should volunteer to teach a class to senior adults!
Help out evenings or weekends, the time frame is flexible. You may greet guests, help monitor and maintain fitness equipment, organize files, or contact new members.
You can help out without any long-term commitment. Put your name on our “On Call” list and we’ll call you when last-minute needs arise. These one time opportunities may include mail prep, data entry, event set up, and more. You can specify the type of tasks you prefer.
Join us for this amazing volunteer opportunity at the Mayerson JCC! You will help portion and package food for the Meals on Wheels program, which has benefited homebound adults in our community for over 30 years. Learn more about our Meals on Wheels program here. The work includes standing for several hours, some light lifting, bending and other light physical work. You will work alongside trained kitchen staff who will direct you through the process. If you have forms to submit to your school or organization, we will be able to sign off on them for any service hours.
