JCC Member Spotlight: Colleen Foegle

We caught up with Mayerson JCC member, Colleen Foegle, and we asked her a few questions about her experience here.  
 
Why did you join the JCC?   
My husband and I joined the JCC to support our Jewish community. As residents of Amberley Village, the JCC is the perfect place for us to feel connected to our neighbors.  
 

What are your favorite programs at the J? Why?  
I have attended lectures, classes, wine tastings and a few 60 & Better gatherings over the years. A favorite program of mine was the introduction to faiths class where we visited various houses of worship and spent time with congregants. Interfaith learning and understanding are such an important community bridge builder!  
 

If you participate in fitness classes, what are your favorites? Why?  
GroupEx, Pilates, fitness groups (Commit to Be Fit, etc.) have been awesome. I enjoy trying new classes, and the JCC does a great job of offering something for everyone. Archery class is next on my list to try!  
 

What would you say to someone considering joining the J?  
You owe it to yourself to check out the JCC! With a state-of-the-art fitness center, pools, cafe, spa, community gathering spaces, etc., what’s not to like? You’ll love it here!  
 

What about the J is different than other fitness centers?   
First, the personal trainers set the JCC apart from any other facility I’ve tried over the years. JCC fitness professionals are knowledgeable and go the extra step to build your confidence and help you challenge yourself. Fitness classes and personal training sessions are personalized and fun. Also, all of the JCC staff are professional and courteous and work hard to ensure a clean, safe facility.  
 

Anything else you’d like to add?  
Eight years ago, I made a commitment to start working out at the JCC regularly. I started with private Pilates classes with Stacey. Those classes built my confidence so much that I decided to try other group fitness and personal training sessions. I haven’t stopped since! At 63, I am probably in the best shape I’ve been in since my collegiate swim team days! JCC Personal trainers Stacey, Rachel and Kate continue to be my “go to” team to keep me on the right track!
