In October, Holly Wolfson assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Mayerson JCC. She succeeded Marc Fisher, who served as CEO for 13 years until his retirement in September. Wolfson is poised to lead the J from strength to strength, as she implements her vision for the future of the organization. As part of that plan, Wolfson has assembled a new executive team and reorganized the administrative structure of the organization. This new leadership team is starting the new year with fresh insights and a passion to create even deeper connections and more vibrant Jewish life in the Cincinnati Jewish community in the years to come.
Whitney Fisch joined the JCC as Chief Program Officer in October, stepping into the role that Wolfson previously served. Fisch has spent more than two decades building engaged and thriving Jewish communities, developing leaders, and advancing mental health education. As CPO, Fisch will oversee the Early Childhood School, Jewish Life, the 60 & Better Center, and the Programming team.
After graduating from The College of Wooster, Fisch began her career as the Jewish Student Life Coordinator at the University of Georgia Hillel. She later served as Graduate and Young Professional Program Director for the Hillels of Illinois and as Director of Outreach and Education at the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs in Chicago, where she deepened her commitment to social justice and Jewish values.
Her passion for Jewish learning led her to The Pardes Institute of Judaic Studies in Jerusalem for a year of immersive study. She went on to earn her Master of Social Work with a focus in community organizing and children and youth from the University of Michigan, where she was named a National Community Scholar.
Over the following decade, Fisch served as a school counselor and educational administrator, most recently as Director of Health and Wellness at Milken Community Schools in Los Angeles. In 2020, she became Executive Director of Hillel at Miami University, where she led the organization through a period of significant growth and revitalization.
Most recently, Fisch served as CEO of BaMidbar, where she led the organization through a successful acquisition by the Jewish Federations of North America, ensuring BaMidbar’s legacy of promoting mental health and resilience in Jewish communities would continue to thrive on a national scale.
David Solomon stepped into his new role as Chief Operating Officer in January. As COO, his role will include overseeing Facilities, Food Services, Events, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Operations, and Security.
Solomon brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in Cincinnati’s Jewish nonprofit community, including ten years at the JCC—five of which he served as Director of Operations. Known for his operational excellence, collaborative leadership style, and deep commitment to Jewish life, Solomon has played an integral role in strengthening the institutions that shape our community.
Solomon’s professional journey reflects a steady progression of leadership and service. He previously served as Executive Director of Rockdale Temple, Chief Operating Officer of the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center, and most recently worked in Operations at the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, where he led strategic initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness and community impact.
A lifelong JCC member, Solomon quite literally grew up at the “old” J—playing sports, attending summer camp, and later returning as an active participant in the softball league, youth and family programs, and fitness community.
Ellen Daniel was promoted to the executive team as Chief Marketing and Development Officer this January. She has served as the Marketing Director at the JCC for the last five years. As a collaborative and intentional leader, she led efforts to integrate the vision of the organization across all departments through marketing efforts and better communicate the JCC’s unique value to the community. In this new role, she will oversee marketing, development, as well as the membership, fitness, and aquatics department.
Before the JCC, Daniel served as the Director of Marketing & Communications at the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and the Director of Marketing & Communications at Mother of Mercy High School. Before entering the marketing field, she earned a Master of Science in Journalism from the E. W Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, completed an international internship at SABC TV News in Johannesburg, South Africa, then was a News Producer at WLWT News 5 in Cincinnati.
“Ellen, David, and Whitney are exceptional Jewish professionals, each bringing distinctive strengths and deep expertise to Mayerson JCC’s Executive Leadership Team,” Wolfson said. “It is a true honor to work alongside them as we shape and advance a shared vision, one that strengthens our organization and furthers the J’s mission to connect people so they can live happier and fuller lives, creating a more vibrant Jewish community for generations to come.”
