How EatLove Transforms Meal Planning to Support Your Fitness Journey

We connected with Justin Ragsdale, General Manager of Fitness and Operations, to learn more about the EatLove initiative at the Mayerson JCC. 

Can you explain what the EatLove app does and what makes it unique in the market? 

EatLove provides personalized nutrition plans, meal recommendations, and coaching to help you build lasting, healthy habits. Easy recipes, smart restaurant choices, grocery lists with optional grocery and meal delivery. 

How does EatLove personalize meal plans for users? 

EatLove creates personalized meal plans by using biometrics, self-reported activity level, dietary restrictions, and goals. Over time, it uses AI to learn your likes and dislikes to further customize meal suggestions.   

How does EatLove customize meal plans based on a gym member’s fitness goals (e.g., weight loss, muscle gain, etc.)? 

The user and/or trainer can set the member’s goals. EatLove customizes meal plans based on a gym member’s fitness goals through a combination of personalized nutrition data, dietary preferences, and the individual’s specific fitness objectives, such as weight loss, muscle gain, or general health improvement. 

What makes EatLove a valuable addition to the Mayerson JCC’s membership, and how does it complement our fitness programs? 

Proper nutrition is essential for achieving fitness goals, as it serves as the fuel for your workouts. Without the right nutrition, reaching your goals becomes much harder. For weight loss, if you consume more calories than you burn, you won’t see the desired results. Many Americans struggle with overeating and portion control, which is where EatLove can help. On the other hand, for muscle gain, if you’re not consuming enough calories, your body won’t have the energy to sustain your workouts or repair muscles afterward, both of which are crucial for muscle growth. EatLove helps ensure you’re fueling your body properly for your specific goals. 

Can members easily integrate their current workout schedules and goals with EatLove’s meal recommendations? 

EatLove doesn’t focus on workout schedules but allows you to set the amount of time you’re willing to spend cooking each meal. You can start by focusing on one meal at a time, such as dinner, if that’s where you can invest the most time. As you get more comfortable with the system and become more efficient, you can gradually add breakfast and lunch to your plan. 

What is the process for a member to get started with EatLove through their membership, and how do they receive ongoing support? 

Contact the Membership Office or Rachel Horton, Fitness Director, to request to be set up in EatLove.  An email address is required for initial access to be set up. Once set up by a staff member, the JCC member will receive an email invitation to set up their account. If additional assistance is needed, we can put them in touch with a fitness team member.
