It’s always exciting when the sukkah is constructed in the J’s courtyard each year to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot. There’s something about the sheltered space that makes us want to come together as a community to share special celebrations and even simple, everyday moments in the spirit of Sukkot: joining a friend to catch up over a cup of coffee, relaxing during a yoga class, or guiding students on a field trip.
Seeing the sukkah come alive with the artwork of organizations from around the city for the Under One Roof community art exhibition inspires a new appreciation for our Cincinnati community. Though we all have unique backgrounds and perspectives, there’s something magical about when we willingly gather together under one roof to share our stories and to strengthen our bonds through the art of conversation.
This year, there are opportunities for all ages to gather in the sukkah to celebrate fun and friendship. Make plans now to attend, and we’ll see you under the sukkah!
