Meals on Wheels is a vital service that delivers prepared meals for homebound seniors throughout the United States. The Mayerson JCC is the only kosher provider located in Southwest Ohio under supervision of the VAAD. Subaru of America and its participating retailers have been instrumental in ensuring Meals on Wheels’ success across the nation through their Subaru Share the Love Event.
The Subaru Share the Love Event has helped deliver more than 2.3 million meals to America’s seniors since its inception in 2008. Subaru’s ongoing support for Meals on Wheels stems from their mission: to leave the world a better place than they found it through the core values of trust and love. They continue to successful uphold their mission through the Subaru Share the Love Event each and every year. As this marks Subaru of America’s 13th year as a Meals on Wheels partner, their lasting impact can be felt within communities including our very own here in Cincinnati.
The 2020 Subaru Share the Love Event is predicted to exceed a cumulative donation of $200 million. This will be our second year participating in the Share the Love Event. Our team made hand-made Thank You cards that were on display at Busam Subaru located in Fairfield. The timing couldn’t have been better as we received over $3,000 as soon as the pandemic hit Cincinnati back in March. The $3,000 allowed us to take on more emergency clients in desperate need for food to get them through the pandemic’s onset, with the funds covering nearly 300 kosher meals!
Looking to purchase a Subaru? From November 19, 2020 through January 4, head to your local retailer and tell them that you want the portion of the purchase ($250) to go towards Wheels of America so that we may be able to receive part of the donation.
