After Crew Teacher

Position Summary
  • The After Crew Teacher is responsible for implementing and operating the daily activities of the After Crew Program; as well as providing a safe and nurturing environment for children.  The teacher’s primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth functioning of all aspects of the program.  The responsibilities represent an average of 20-25 hours per week, with some weeks less and others more during the academic year. Monday through Friday 2:30-6:00 beginning June 10th
Essential Functions
•    Implement and participate in daily lesson plans.
•    Oversee all daily aspects of the program.
•    Prepare room and snack for children as needed.
•    Maintain and confirm accurate records for all children and families including, but not limited to, daily attendance records and parent’s signatures.
•    Manage and maintain program supplies including, but not limited to, snack supplies.
•    Supervise the dietary and health care needs of all children.
•    Maintain a healthy, clean, and safe environment.
•    Communicate effectively with children and their families.
•    Complete professional trainings to align with our licensing.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Assist Aquatics staff with instructional swim and recreational swim as directed

Inclusion Coordinator

Position Summary
With the creation of this position, the Mayerson JCC seek to further enhance our capacity both to support and create a sense of belonging for individuals with disabilities and their families in the fabric of the Jewish community.
The Inclusion Coordinator will serve as a community resource and advisor in building and expanding a culture dedicated to accessible and safe spaces for people of all abilities. This role will be responsible for collaboratively establishing key working groups and foundational strategy, as well as implementation and monitoring, around inclusion and accessibility efforts.
More About the Role
  • Serve as a central resource and initial contact for Jewish community disability opportunities/adaptations/processes
  • Identify, plan, execute, and oversee priority areas for inclusion work
  • Help build and execute community inclusion strategy, informed by the Matan study and community voices
  • Manage, maintain and strengthen working relationships with relevant lay leader and professional groups across work areas, such as community educators, administrators, leadership, clergy, and others
  • Collaborate with, advise, train and support JCC departments to ensure promotion of inclusion across programming
  • Ensure JCC is compliant with ADA
  • Develop budgets for areas of program oversight and provide continual budget responsibility
  • Maintain and submit program records in accordance with the requirements of funding sources and internal procedures
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with past, present, and future donors in concert with the JCC Development Director

Position Qualifications

Jewish Educator

Position Summary

The Jewish Educator will bring innovation and creativity to how Judaism is experienced at the Mayerson JCC. This person will develop and strengthen Jewish learning and engagement through content, curriculum and atmosphere, both within the Early Childhood School and across the Mayerson JCC. This role will report both to the Early Childhood School (ECS) Director and Programming Director, as their efforts are focused within the ECS and across the entire community center. This position serves as the Jewish education ambassador and resource for our ECS (i.e., our youngest learners, their families, teachers) and the broader JCC (i.e., staff, members, community). Across the JCC, this position will create positive exposure to and experiences of Jewish values and traditions. Efforts include a variety of activities and curriculum with overt Jewish content that bring Jewish and non-Jewish participants together to fulfill the J’s mission to connect people so that they can live happier and fuller lives, creating a more vibrant Jewish community.

Essential Functions
  • Plan, develop, and execute creative and age-appropriate Jewish curriculum and enrichment, including Jewish culture, holidays (e.g., Purim, Shavuot, Sukkot, and Hanukkah), traditions, and introductory Hebrew language, at the Early Childhood School.
  • Develop content and provide internal Jewish education trainings and initiatives for the ECS teachers and staff, Camp at the J campers and staff, JCC Staff and the board of trustees.
  • Build, plan, and execute initiatives to engage the Jewish community in Cincinnati, inside and outside of Mayerson JCC.
  • Become immersed in the Cincinnati Jewish Community to assess needs and share engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with staff, lay leaders, and Jewish organizations and institutions locally and nationally to build unity and synergy around Jewish life programs and events and present engaging programming around major Jewish holidays.
  • Develop programs that can meet people where they are Jewishly and take them to the next step in their Jewish journey and ensure an impactful Jewish presence inside the JCC.
  • Work closely with the Community Shlichim (Israeli Emmisary) to support our Israeli community and create Jewish engagement with matters related to Israel.
  • Plan, develop, and implement Israeli cultural programs for youth and adults in collaboration with Jewish Federation’s Israel Department and JCRC including, but not limited to Yom HaAtzmaut and Yom HaZikaron.
  • Develop and manage budgets for respective areas of oversight.
  • Other related duties as required or directed.

  • Provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback through the use of comment cards and other customer care techniques.
  • Helps ensure facility is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times.
