Mayerson JCC Sensory Kit
Sensory kits are designed to help individuals manage their sensory needs while enjoying community programming. Our sensory kits are equipped with noise-reducing headphones, a variety of fidgets, and other sensory items to meet the diverse needs of our guests.
Here is what resources are included in our kit and how they can help:
- Noise-Reducing Headphones
Noise-reducing headphones can block out ambient sound or reduce the volume when an event may feel overwhelming. - Sunglasses
Whether an indoor or outdoor event, lighting can be visually overwhelming for a variety of reasons! Put these sunglasses on to dim the florescent lights or sunlight. - Handheld Fidgets
Our sensory kits have a variety of small, fidget tools! Fidget tools are designed to be a discrete way for individuals to self-regulate or concentrate with the help of tactile input. - Liquid Motion Bubbler
The slow & visually stimulating movement of these bubblers provide a calming visual effect when feeling overwhelmed or anxious. They can help individuals self-regulate and center themselves. - Cooling Towels
Cooling towels are a quick & low-mess way to cool off. Cooling sensations have been shown to reduce anxiety in some instances. To use these towels, get them wet and ring them completely out before using. For outdoor events only. - Sensory Brush
This is another tactile method of sensory input. Brushing arms or legs can help regulate and calm individuals who may feel overwhelmed. - Visual Timer
Timers can help set clear boundaries and limits during an activity or break. Please be aware that these timers are not silent, so other patrons may notice their use. - Bubbles
While bubbles are fun, they are also a great way to help regulate your breathing! A big breath in your nose and then blow out and see how many bubbles you can make! For outdoor events only.
Please ensure all the items listed are returned.
Note: All items are cleaned between uses.
