Judaism 101

Whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of Judaism, are considering conversion, or are sparked by curiosity to explore this rich tradition, this class is for you. Together we will discuss the fundamental concepts of Judaism, explore theology and prayer, and build relationships with one another. Rabbi Sammy Kanter leads the learning and discussion, and folks of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Passover Seder
Rabbi Sammy Kanter, Director of Jewish Life at the J, will lead our 60 & Better community to celebrate Passover with a beautiful model Seder. The spirit of Passover will be alive through music, conversation, and connections with the holiday.

Polarization’s Impact on Our World: What can we do?
Americans have rarely been as polarized as we are today. We are aware of how polarized our country is-Democrats, Republicans and Independents seemingly live in separate and divided worlds.
Painting with Chaverim Friends
Paint and schmooze with Chaverim friends Yarden and Uri to create a beautiful masterpiece to take home with you. Artist Barbara Kelsey will lead us in a painting a beautiful image of Israel’s unofficial national flower (calaniot).

Come learn with Donald Hordes about the US Supreme Court’s evolving philosophy on Separation of Church and State and the history beginning in the early 1960’s to present. Donald graduated from the George Washington University School of Law in 1969.
