Let’s Make a Mess with PJ Library

At Mayerson JCC

Ages 0 – 3

Take the mess out of your house and make it in ours! Come to the J with your little ones where we will make a mess while we explore all types of fun projects! Science, food, art – as long as it’s a mess!


PJ Library’s Fifth Annual Hamentaschen Bake
March 1, 1pm and 3pm
At Out of Thyme Kitchen
Cost: $5 per baker – cash at the door

We will be mixing dough, filling our triangles with all sorts of deliciousness including chocolate, sprinkles, and various jellies. While the cookies are baking, we’ll be interactively telling the story of Purim. We look forward to celebrating Purim with your family and eating yummy hamentaschens together!


Tea Party with Your PJ Library Grandparents
March 15, 3 – 4:30pm
At Bonbonerie
Cost: $18 per grandparent – children are free!

Bring your grandkids for a tea party! Get dressed in your finest tea party clothes and be ready to sip tea, enjoy yummy tea party food and meet other PJ Library grandparents. You do not need to be currently enrolled in the PJ Library Grandparent program to attend.

PJ Library Makes Matzah with the Matzah Factory!
March 29, 2pm
At Mayerson JCC

Join PJ Library and Chabad Blue Ash for an authentic matzah-baking experience! Explore the ancient art of “shmura matzah” baking and make your own matzah from start to finish. Grind the wheat, make the flour, knead the dough, and roll out your own matzah. Don’t miss this fun, educational experience for the entire family!


Making Mitzvah Magic with PJ Library
April 26, 3pm
Locations Vary; Meeting at the J

Join us for our first family volunteering program! We will be breaking up into three groups based on children’s ages and taking part in mitzvahs around the city. Parents must be in attendance for all programs.

  • Ages 2 – 5: Meet at the J and head to Blue Ash Kroger where we’ll shop for food and load up “Little Pantries” across the area. Gift cards will be provided for shopping.
  • Ages 6 – 8: Meet at the J and head to Blue Ash Kroger where we’ll stock up on food to deliver at the Heldman Family Food Pantry. We will get to sort and stock food at the pantry when we arrive! Gift cards will be provided for shopping.
  • Ages 8 – 13: Meet at the J and head to La Soupe in Walnut Hills to work on a hands-on service-related project.

Mezuzah Making with PJ Our Way
Ages 8 – 13
May 7, 5:30 – 7:30pm
At Brazee Art Studio
Cost: $15 per person

Calling all PJOW kids! Join us at the Brazee Art Studio for a night of crafting. Create your own glass mezuzah with your PJOW friends. You choose everything – the design, the color, and the patterns! Dinner will be provided.

I Scream, You Scream with PJ Library
May 17, 3 – 4:30pm
At Mayerson JCC

Get ready to shake your way to homemade ice cream with PJ Library! Shavuot is coming and we celebrate the holiday with dairy treats so this will be a perfect time to have an ice cream party! After we shake our bags and make homemade vanilla ice cream we will top it off with all of our favorite toppings.


PJ Library, PJ Baby, and PJ Our Way family programs are offered at the J and other local venues to children up to 11 years old with at least one Jewish parent. In partnership with the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, and thanks to generous funding from Anne Heldman, Jo Levine, the Fisher family (founding sponsor), and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
