History of the Adams Classic
The Adams Classic is named for Steve Adams, a former Mayerson JCC Board member, and JCC advocate. A JCC volunteer for 20 years, Adams was an avid golfer, dedicated leader, and generous philanthropist. In 1995, he passed away from complications due to brain cancer. Through the support of his friends and relatives, and the Jewish community, the Adams classic was formed in 1996 as a tribute to his life and his interests.
In 2019, the Adams Classic celebrates its 25th year of supporting organizations and services important to the community. All proceeds go directly to JCC programs and services that impact our community, including Meals on Wheels, Senior Wellness, arts accessibility, and Special Needs & Inclusion Services. Event proceeds will also help fund scholarships to our sports leagues, pre-school, membership, and camp. This year alone, we will provide more than $200,000 in financial aid to connect people to programs and services that enhance their lives.
