Mozart’s 1787 masterpiece Don Giovanni is a staple of the operatic repertoire. The story is based upon the legend of Don Juan, an infamous and arrogant nobleman who fancies himself quite the seducer. His methods, however, reveal a disturbing pattern of abuse. Queen City Opera will perform selected scenes from the opera, followed by a discussion of consent and assault led by Isaac Selya, Founder and Artistic Director of Queen City Opera and Debi M. Varland, MA MAT ATR of Jewish Family Service.
Presented by Queen City Opera and Jewish Family Service. In partnership with the Mayerson JCC.
