Staff Application

Available Positions:

Counselor
Minimum of 16 years old. Works with the Co-Counselors and Unit Head in the implementation of age-appropriate, intriguing, and exciting camp programs and activities, and provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for JCC day campers.


Advocate
Minimum of 18 years old. Works with the camp Inclusion Coordinator, Counselors, and Unit Head in the implementation of age-appropriate, intriguing, and exciting camp programs and activities, adapting activities as needed, and provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for JCC day campers. This position may work 1:1 with an assigned camper or work closely with 1:2 campers.


Specialist
Minimum of 16 years old. Works with the Program Coordinator to plan, develop, and coordinate age-appropriate, intriguing, and exciting specialty activities, lesson plans and provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for JCC day campers. Leads activities for each bunk in one of the following specialties: Art, Sports, Music, Drama, Nature/Cooking, Israeli Culture or another specialized field.


Unit Head
Minimum of 18 years old. Works with Assistant Camp Director and Camp Director to plan, develop, and coordinate age-appropriate, intriguing, and exciting camp programs and activities, supervise counselors, and provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for JCC day campers. Leads one of the following age groups: Pioneers (Kindergartners) Trailblazers (Grades 1-2) Raiders (Grades 3-4) Quest (Grades 5-8) LIT (Grades 9-10)


Nurse
Must be a Registered Nurse. This person is available as a consultant and provides medical support to Camp at the J. Minimum Education Required: Ohio nursing license, current CPR and First Aid certifications, and a valid driver’s license Minimum Experience Required: Has worked with children and young adults is desirable. Special Skills: Able to observe and identify environmental hazards, unsanitary or unhealthy conditions, and other risks related to camp activities or the conditions of the camp.


Office Administrator
Minimum of 16 years old. Works with the Assistant Camp Director and Camp Director in a customer service position responsible for managing communication to staff and to parents, as well as all camp administration during the summer.


Community Life Coordinator
Minimum of 18 years old. Works with the Assistant Camp Director, Camp Director and Inclusion Coordinator to accommodate campers who require an advocate or may need additional assistance.


Program Coordinator
Minimum 18 years old. Works with Assistant Camp Director and Camp Director to plan, develop, and coordinate age-appropriate, intriguing, and exciting camp programs and activities, supervise specialists and provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for JCC day campers.
