Campers shine during specialty camps

Campers shine during specialty camps

Camp at the J prides itself on offering the quintessential summer experience – games, sports, camp values, arts & crafts, swimming, and more. But specialty camps can offer opportunities for campers to dive deeper into a hobby, or to expand their horizons by trying something new!

Specialty camps foster friendships among diverse campers with common interests. They promote character-building values and social skills while encouraging campers to develop their unique skills and passions. According to Marcia Lindstrom of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for the American Camp Association:

“[We have found that specialty camps] magnify the most significant natural benefits of the traditional camp experience. The bond of friendship between kindred spirits is intensified; the natural order is turned on its head as the most unlikely of young people shine, thrive, and grow as leaders; and previously unrecognized individual aptitudes and abilities are realized as dreams of what can be are born.”

This year, Camp at the J is offering more specialty camps than ever. From STEMQuest and Drobots Drone Camps, to Abrakadoodle Art Camp, Circus Camp, sports camps, and more, there is something to help every camper discover their own talents and interests. Learn more and try some of these amazing specialty camp opportunities for yourself at Taste of Camp at the J on March 31 at 1:30pm!
